Computer Cooling Techniques
I noticed a whole bunch of questions about various types of computer cooling this past week on the forum, so I figured we were due for a TechBits episode on the topic! You can check it out below or you can watch it in HD on youtube.
In other news, I broke 500 subscribers this past week on youtube! I’m super excited about that, and I’m hoping I can keep that number growing so long as I continue to release videos on a fairly regular basis.
Anyways, that’s pretty much it for right now, enjoy the video!
Back Up to Cow Country
So tonight will be last night for quite a while that I’ll get to sleep in my comfy bed, as I’ll be heading back up to Cornell University for the Spring Semester tomorrow (actually, I guess it’s today since I’m writing this late at night). As far as courses go, my lineup is as follows:
-Multivariable Calculus for engineers
-Physics I (Mechanics)
-MATLAB applications in Robotics
-Environmental Perspective Writing Seminar
-Solar Decathlon Independent Study
-Probably some kind of gym class
-Self-paced Transition to Object-Oriented Programming course
In other news I have a super secret surprise project that I’ve been working on over break. I had hoped I’d finish it during my time at home, but alas I have not, so I’m bringing it up to school with me. It’s nothing too exciting, basically just a fun little mechatronics project. You’ll have to check back or subscribe to the RSS if you ever want to see what it is!
No commentsYouTube Partner Status Achieved
Great News! After posting my first video to Youtube over 2.5 years ago, I’ve finally been selected to join the youtube partner program. As a member, my videos get priority, I’m eligible for revenue sharing if Ichoose to have ads appear next to my videos, and I get to do a lot of great stuff with my channel page! I’m very excited about this, and my hope is that it will garner even more views for my videos. Check out my fancy new youtube channel HERE.
No commentsSo you’ve Built a Computer! Now What?
This most recent video tutorial, brought to you by ultimatecomputers.net, answers one of the biggest questions I get: how do you configure a computer once you’ve finished building it? I explain how to maneuver through the BIOS, ensure your temperatures are okay, setup a RAID array, set your default boot device, install Windows, get drivers working, and how to disable Windows User Account Control. As always, you can go check it out in HD on youtube ;)
This Computer really is Ultimate. Worthy of Edition 6? Hell ya.
Building the Ultimate Computer: Edition 6 is live! This is undoubtedly the most bleeding-edge computer I’ve ever built. It sports a GTX280 Video Card, an Intel Core i7 940 Quad Core CPU, and 12GB of DDR3 Triple Channel RAM! This thing hasn’t even been overclocked yet and it’s is already destroying benchmarks left and right. Check out the embedded youtube video or watch the stellar HD VERSION ON YOUTUBE.
Also, we’ve made the parts list, soundtrack and photo gallery available on the corresponding UltimateComputers.net Project Page.
