Building the Ultimate Computer: Edition 7
Time flies…it seems like just yesterday that I was filming Ultimate Computer 1, the very first video I uploaded to youtube. 46 videos and 1,614 subscribers later, the newest Ultimate Computer has arrived! This time, the build focuses on bang-for-your-buck power, effectively providing tons of gaming horsepower, for a manageable price tag of around $2000US. Check out the video below, or go visit the project page at UltimateComputers.net to download the song and more!
This Computer really is Ultimate. Worthy of Edition 6? Hell ya.
Building the Ultimate Computer: Edition 6 is live! This is undoubtedly the most bleeding-edge computer I’ve ever built. It sports a GTX280 Video Card, an Intel Core i7 940 Quad Core CPU, and 12GB of DDR3 Triple Channel RAM! This thing hasn’t even been overclocked yet and it’s is already destroying benchmarks left and right. Check out the embedded youtube video or watch the stellar HD VERSION ON YOUTUBE.
Also, we’ve made the parts list, soundtrack and photo gallery available on the corresponding UltimateComputers.net Project Page.

On August 22nd I’ll be heading up to Ithaca, NY to start my college education at Cornell University’s Engineering college. So what do you think the one thing that stressed be out about college was? The workload? The pressure? The upperclassmen? Nope. My one worry was this: How will I survive without a powerful computer!? The problem is that I won’t, which I why a recently built a new desktop to take with me up to college…in addition to by Dell D630 Laptop. If you are anything like my parents, you’re probably thinking, “Why do you need such a massive powerful computer!?” It’s who I am, people. I’ve got a need for processor speed. So without further adeiu, I introduce you to my newest speed machine:
Building the Ultimate Computer: Edition 4
I’ve upgraded my computer! My old system (ultimate computer 1) has been donated to my brother, and I will be replacing it with a watercooled beast. The specs and pictures are available in my forum post here.
And I’ve made both a montage of the build set to music, and a 20-minute instructional version for those interested in the fine-points of computer building. Both are available on ultimatecomputers.net: montage, instructional
Here is the youtube embed of the montage (The instructional version is also available on my youtube profile in 4 parts) :
Did I mention there’s another?
That’s right, not just one more computer building video, but two! Are you excited or what? I did these a few days apart, but uploaded them both to youtube today. Once again, the parts are pretty similar, because I’ve tested that they work well together. So without further adieu… UltimateComputer3.

The video of my first computer build was more successful than I thought on youtube, so it looks like I’ll be filming some more. Following is a similar system that I built with a friend. It’s designed for most of the same stuff, video editing, some games, etc.
